This audio-visual/webcast presentation provided by Philips Medical Systems Clinical Education Department provides an overview of CT body imaging including review of the clinical indications and pathology for the thorax and spine. Taking this course will help prepare the student for the advanced level registry review in CT. This course will review the anatomy of the thorax and spine, contrast media, patient preparation protocol including the safety screening and positioning acquisition methods, parameter selection, protocol modification for pathology or trauma. Special procedures such as 3-D studies, CTA, the CT myelogram, and radiation therapy planning will be discussed. This video presentation is given by Carolyn Roth, RT (R) (MR) (CT) (M) (CV) FSMRT and Joanne Niewood, MsRT (R) (MR) (CT).
Learning Objectives
1) To learn the day to day practice of CT imaging
2) To evaluate patients for CT safety and screening techniques.
3) To evaluate patients for proper imaging protocols for Thorax & Spine imaging.
4) To understand patient preparation for Thorax & Spine imaging in the CT environment.
