Course: Diseases and Conditions

Module: Stroke: Treatments, Clinical Trials, and Imaging Technologies

Module Description: Audience: All medical professionals
Prerequisites: None
The purpose of the course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of stroke, its symptoms and risks, treatment and therapies, as well as an overview of ongoing clinical trials. The course will review the clinical imaging modalities that are currently being utilized today for the evaluation of stoke.

Learning Objectives:
* At the conclusion of this module the learner will gain working knowledge and understanding for the following topics:
* The implications of demographics and those who are at higher risk for stroke
* Types of stroke
* Stroke units and early intervention
* Clinical Trials for alternative drug therapies
* Imaging technologies utilized in evaluation of stroke
* The healthcare dollars spent on stroke
