This audio/visual/webcast type presentation is designed for the imaging professional who is directly, or indirectly involved with the Radiography environment. Within this course, many of the key components of radiation are addressed including: public perception and radiation damage. These safety considerations for radiation include biological effects, FDA regulations, patient considerations, screening recommendations, and more.
This course provides discussion relative to the current controversies associated with radiation exposure. The course will discuss the various radiation risk comparisons and theories. The course will explore a psychological model relative to public perception and fear.. The course will provide an explanation of ionization and radioactivity pertinent to DNA reaction. This course will provide explanation pertaining to the linear hypothesis and low dose effects. This course will discuss radiation dose reduction especially in CT and fluoroscopic procedures.
