Course:
Bracco Learning Activities, College of Radiographers CPD Endorsed, Computed Tomography
Module:
CT Angiography
Module Description:
Audience: Radiologic technologists interested in learning about CT Angiography
Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of CT.
This tutorial on CT Angiography (CTA) will review the technical aspects of CTA, contrast optimization, bolus timing and post-processing techniques. This course will also discuss the clinical applications of CTA and describe the advantages and disadvantages of CTA compared to MR Angiography and Digital Subtraction Angiography.
Learning Objectives
* describe the differences between a single-row detector scanner and a multiple-row dector helical scanner
* give a brief description of the CTA examination
* explain the advantages and disadvantages of CTA versus MR Angiography and Digital Subtraction Angiography
* describe the technical aspects of CTA such as the direction of scanning, collimation, pitch, and reconstruction interval
* discuss contrast optimization, the contrast injection, and bolus timing for CTA procedures
* describe the different post-processing techniques utilized for CTA
* discuss the clinical applications of CTA
