Case Study Description:
Audience: All practitioners of ultrasound or anyone interested in learning about mesenteric volvulus of the small bowel.
Prerequisites: None
This case study provides information regarding a mesenteric volvulus. The case study contains information on normal mesenteric anatomy, arteries for collateral pathways, and symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and treatment options for mesenteric volvulus. Also included is information on how Ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI, Laboratory and Interventional Procedures aided in the diagnosis.
