This case study on genetic breast carcinoma will illustrate the unique information that each imaging modality, clinical exam, or test provides to reach a diagnostic conclusion. In addition, the library section contains further information regarding pathology and a more in depth description of procedures and material used for these procedures. This case study will define the role of mammography and ultrasound in the assessment of breast carcinoma, describe typical mammographic and ultrasound findings of breast carcinoma, contrast BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations and investigate strategies of management for women at high genetic risk for breast carcinoma.
