Case Study Description: Audience: All practitioners of ultrasound or anyone interested in learning about gout.
Prerequisites: None
This case study presents the medical history and diagnostic test results of a patient with gout. Discussion of the typical clinical presentation, ultrasound and radiological findings and the differential diagnosis provide the learner with a core understanding of this disease process.


Learning Objectives
Following the review of this information as well as the discussion provided in the library, the learner will be able to:
*Describe the spectrum of musculoskeletal findings of gout.
*Identify the typical sonographic characteristics of gout.
*Explain the differential diagnosis for a gouty tophus on ultrasound.
*Describe the clinical appearance of gout.
*Explain the follow-up for a molar pregnancy.
