Module: Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology Review Using CT: Part 1 - Body

Module Description: Audience: All medical professionals
Prerequisites: None

This course is a review and refresher of anatomy and physiology of the body with an overview of pathology commonly seen with CT. This is a great review for anyone in the imaging field, especially if transferring into the CT modality.


Learning Objectives
* Describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the different organs in the abdomen
* Recognize the main structures in the chest and lungs on a CT image
* Identify major structures in the abdomen on a CT image
* Describe the most common pathological conditions affecting the chest and abdomen
* Discuss the post-processing techniques being utilized with CT today
* Identify the major blood vessels in the body and understand common disorders of the vasculature


Author: Ms. Barbara Lebron
About the author: Barbara Lebron is recognized as an expert resource for teaching clinical and technical concepts in MRI, CT, General Radiology, Ultrasound, and Vascular imaging. Barbara has worked for Philips Healthcare for 18 years; as a Clinical Sales Support Manager for CT/MRI and currently as an Online Course Developer for the Philips Learning Center. Her responsibilities include developing and updating courses for the Learning Center, working with subject matter experts and authors, and managing the continuing education process for the various accrediting organizations. Barbara is a graduate of Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut, is accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with an additional MR registry license, and is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
