Course Information

Course: Dental Professional Courses

Module: Vital Tooth Whitening - Beyond the Basics

Module Description: According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, 99.7% of Americans believe a smile is an important social asset. Perhaps that is why whitening is one of the most requested treatments in dental practices. Patients with beautiful, radiant smiles can be ambassadors for oral health.

The course begins with a brief review of the evolution of whitening. The fundamentals of shade assessments and whitening product recommendations will be discussed. Understanding and implementing the process of proper stain diagnosis is essential. This contributes to greater patient satisfaction, more realistic whitening predictions and increased practice revenue.

Sensitivity no longer has to be part of whitening! Participants gain insight on techniques that prepare a patient for a successful whitening treatment and reduced sensitivity.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the participants will be able to:
• Summarize the evolution and chemistry of whitening
• Recognize the importance of following a sensitivity protocol
• Differentiate between available whitening options
