Module: ECG Fundamentals & Basic Dysrhythmias: Part 1 Anatomy and Physiology - Nursing

Module Description:
The aim of this course is to provide a review of basic cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology including heart structure and function, leads and waveforms, and ECG strip analysis.
Audience: All Nursing professionals
Prerequisites: None


Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
* describe the anatomical structures and functions of the heart
* explore the process of electrical conduction in the heart
* recall the properties of cardiac depolarization and repolarization
* describe the relationship of each ECG waveform to the electrical events in the heart
* apply correct waveform measurement, rate calculation, and analysis techniques for interpreting an ECG strip
* describe correct lead placement
